Synchronizer Release History
Version 2.5
Since the new version 3.0 has been under development for a long time, and we made several important updates and bugfixes to version 2, it was time for an updated version of Synchronizer.
Synchronizer 2.5 has fixed / added the following features:
- Some basic network drive support (it was reported this failed sometimes)
- Two way synchronization, latest version is copied either from source location or towards the source location
- Cleanup mode, at the destination location any file that no longer exists in the source location is removed
- Minor memory leak fix causing increaded memory usage with large folder structures
Version 2.0
In Synchronizer 2.0 all of the old bugs are fixed and lot of new features are being added. To do this Synchronizer has been completely rewritten. As such it is taking a bit longer to release it and we currently only have a alpha release available.
Synchronizer 2.0 currently has the following features:
- Full multithreading support
- Advanced logging of the directory analysis and synchronization of files
- Configuration files to make it easier to schedule jobs
- Build upon the new Jong Soft framework to support integration into other Jong Soft applications
Version 1.0
The synchroniser will enable you to synchronize files between to directories on a computer. Allowing you to work on two different stations with the same files, or just create back-ups at regular intervals. This initial release includes the following features:
- Backing up files based upon last modification date
- Working using multi threading to increase speed
- Both way synchronization, copying the newest file from either the source or destination
As with any major release we get reports in on some critical issues with Synchronizer. Below is a list of know issues that are being solved in version 2.0:
- Occasionally the multi threading crashes the application on larger jobs
- Memory consumption icreases beyond normal on 1.500 files / directories to be scanned
